A Short Thought on Finding Your Other Half

Many times, we dream of our future other half in this way: 1) Must be gentle. 2) Must be fun to be with. 3) Must be polite. 4) Must be a gentleman, or lady. And so on…
But, think of it this way – How can I be the future spouse my other half would want? You want a polite spouse? Be polite yourself! Want a gentleman or lady? Be one yourself! Want a gentle spouse? Be gentle yourself! Want a handsome or beautiful(physically) spouse? Uh…that one, I can’t help you with. 😉 However, remember, inner beauty is always to be preferred over physical beauty. Yet, above all, trust God to provide the perfect someone for you!

I find it irritating when people lump a Christian with the Catholics. Christians were not the one that ordered the eight crusades (some history books say 9, 10, 11, or 12). Christians were not the one that killed millions during the Dark Ages and Spanish Inquisition. Christians were not the one that molested little boys and girls. We didn’t do that. The Roman Catholics did. Yet, they profess that they are “ambassadors” or “vicars” or what-have-you of Christ. God has said in His Word, Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
Matthew 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
But, even some Christians have committed crimes, and are without excuse. Yet, think on it for awhile, were they really Christians, were their lives displaying Christ since the day they got saved? Matthew 7:20 “Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.”
I, as a Christian, believe that salvation happens when:
1) You admit that you are a sinner.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
2) Because you are a sinner, there is a penalty. Hell.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death…”
Revalation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
3)But, God did not leave us without hope!
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Salvation is simple:
Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt CONFESS WITH THY MOUTH the Lord Jesus, and shalt BELIEVE IN THINE HEART that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Believe that Christ died for your sins on Calvary, he was buried for three days, and on the third day, he arose from the grave!

As you can see, salvation is not by works. Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
It is so simple. God is giving you a gift. All you have to do is stretch forth your hand, and receive that gift!
This gift has a no return policy also, for in John 10:28 “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man PLUCK THEM OUT of my hand.”

A Post

No idea who wrote this.  There is some controversy about this. I edited some parts. But, it is still a good read.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians.

I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.

I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him?

I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

In light of recent events – terrorists attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.

Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.

The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem. We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said okay.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with, ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?

My Advocate by Martha Snell Nicholson

I sinned. And straightway, post-haste, Satan flew
Before the presence of the most high God,
And made a railing accusation there.
He said, “This soul, this thing of clay and sod,
Has sinned. ‘Tis true that he has named Thy name,
But I demand his death, for Thou hast said,
‘The soul that sinneth, it shall die.’ Shall not
Thy sentence be fulfilled? Is justice dead?
Send now this wretched sinner to his doom.
What other thing can righteous ruler do?”
And thus he did accuse me day and night,
And every word he spoke, O God, was true!

Then quickly One rose up from God’s right hand,
Before Whose glory angels veiled their eyes.
He spoke, “Each jot and tittle of the law
Must be fulfilled; the guilty sinner dies!
But wait – suppose his guilt were all transformed
To Me, and that I paid his penalty!
Behold My hands, My side, My feet! One day
I was made sin for him, and died that he
Might be presented, faultless, at Thy throne!”
And Satan flew away. Full well he knew
That he could not prevail against such love,
For every word my dear Lord spoke was true!

The Bible Is Infallible

2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

The Bible is a few thousand years old. But, as Matthew 24:35 says, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” It is infallible and everything about it is true! Since God wrote it, as mentioned in 2 Peter 1:21, it can be anything but false!

I invite anyone to comment. If you don’t agree with my statement, I would like to know why. This would challenge me greatly and cause me to do more research in the Bible. 🙂

God bless!
